Dame Cicely Saunders
I'm Karen Pratt, owner of Elder Tree Doula. I felt called to become an end of life doula during the early days of the COVID pandemic, after more than thirty years as a teacher, librarian, and writer.
As a holistic, non-medical practitioner, I seek to provide a safe, supportive space for clients and their families to create an end of life plan that reflects their wishes, beliefs, values, and needs.
My services fill the gaps that exist between hospice and medical care for those who are terminally ill and dying. I tailor my support to fit each client's needs and provide personalized end of life care.
I am committed to ensuring that Elder Tree Doula, LLC is an inclusive and equitable space for all, and strive to ensure that these values are represented in my choices and interactions with my clients and their communities.
A deeply rich aspect of my end-of-life practice is the diversity of clients that I serve. It is a privilege to be able to tailor my services to honor the cultural traditions and spiritual beliefs of each individual and their family.
My growth in diversity, equity & inclusion is an ongoing journey, and I welcome any feedback on how I can improve on my efforts.
